The FS 38 is a lightweight gas powered grass trimmer for homeowner use. It features a curved shaft to improve maneuverability in tight areas and a TapAction™ AutoCut® 6-2 cutting head, in a lightweight balanced design to increase comfort and reduce operator fatigue.

• The loop handled grass trimmers and brushcutters are ideal for working in areas where space is limited, e.g. thinning between bushes and shrubs.

• Easy, comfortable thumb-operated control means the operator's hand never leaves the handle.

• A genuine advance in easy starting. STIHL Easy2Start™ (E) cuts the effort required to start the tool by half, while the starter cord can be pulled at just one third of the normal force. All it takes is 2 fingers and a gentle pull action.

• STIHL ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by the compression of the engine during starting. The compression shock is taken away from the user's joints and muscles through a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.
